7 Ways to Reduce Stress at Work
The end of the summer season brings with it a number of changes, from the weather to our wardrobes, the start of a new school year and the countdown to the festive season.
It’s also at this time of year that the evenings start to get darker, time spent in sunlight wanes, and in-office conversations about whether to turn the heating on or not start to takeover. If you’re anything like us, this is a difficult time of year to adjust to – and it can often feel like, with a distinct lack of daylight at both ends of the day, your work hours skyrocket and become increasingly stressful.
Reducing stress at work is a difficult conversation to have. Many of us shy away from open conversations about our attitude to work, because we don’t want to make a fuss, and we don’t want to take a backwards step in terms of progression. But alongside that is the human side of the workplace, and the very human need to balance workplace pressure with stress relieving activities and changes.
Yes, you might thrive under pressure, but you will only do that for so long before you break.
And so, it’s important to find ways to balance everyday work stress with small changes and things which improve your day – even in the simplest and most subtle of ways. Here are 7 of our favourite ways to reduce stress at work (and at either end of the workday).
1. Establish a routine that works for you
How many times has a standard workday morning been made stressful by rushing around? Having a routine alleviates the pressure of a late and manic morning rush, giving you time to have a balanced breakfast and really set yourself up for the day.
There’s nothing worse than chasing your tail before the day has even begun, so take the time to work out what time you need to get up to truly enjoy a more relaxing start to the day.
2. Implement our Mushroom Gummies into your morning routine
While we’re on the subject of a good morning routine, let’s talk supplements – namely our Mushroom Gummies, which contain a potent blend of four different mushrooms, all with their own unique benefits.
From a stress relieving point of view, we want to pay particular attention to Cordyceps which provide vitality and energy throughout the day (getting you through the 3pm slump) and Lion’s Mane which is perfect for boosting cognitive function.
3. Take time out at lunchtime
Consider this the sign you’ve been waiting for to close your laptop and step away from your desk for a well-earned midday break. Taking time out at lunchtime, even if it’s just for a walk around the block or a nearby park, can help you to hit the reset button and improve your productivity ready for the afternoon.
It’s also a good time to catch up with colleagues or, if you prefer, call a friend or family member – removing your brain from the workplace and giving it some respite to focus on something else.

4. Create to-do lists
Here at Feel Güd HQ, we love a checklist – especially when we get to put a tick next to everything we’ve achieved. Celebrating and acknowledging the little wins as well as the bigger tasks can help you to feel more motivated at work – not to mention, putting everything you need to do into one list can help it to feel more manageable and less stressful.
5. Implement Ashwagandha into your routine
We’re back to supplement talk, but this time it’s for the end of the workday. Ashwagandha is a potent stress reliever, which can be taken in our accessible and tasty gummy format everyday to help you unwind after work.
The Ashwagandha Gummies also help to improve your quality of sleep and minimise anxiety, all while enhancing your libido and balancing hormone levels – one big tick on your stress reduction checklist!
6. Get plenty of sleep
Circling back to the importance of a good routine, it’s crucial that you get plenty of sleep if you want to attack every workday with a fresh head and renewed sense of motivation and energy.
There are a number of things you can do to help make this a possibility, including switching off all electronics early in the evening and reaching for a book (rather than a smartphone), engaging in physical activity as part of your daily routine, and eating dinner earlier rather than later.
7. Make sure you love your job
If there’s one thing that we can’t relate to, it’s an internal hatred of your job (seriously, every day’s a blast here at Feel Güd HQ)! Which is why we feel able to talk about the importance of doing a job that you love and feel passionate about.
When work feels more like a lifestyle choice and less of a chore, it instantly becomes something that brings you joy or at least a semblance of motivation, rather than underlying stress.
